Another weekend is over. Talk about fast. I didn't even realize it was here this time around. It's now 25 days (19 working days) till the end of my attachment here at EDB, and for some reason I am kinda looking forward to it. Like I said, it's not becoz i hate this job... just that I would like some time for myself, which i've not had since i started working here. Neither am i looking forward to more nagging from my mom, which i foresee if i hang around doing nothing at home after this. Think i may enrol myself in a course or something... perhaps an IT course on video editing or perhaps even try to learn the guitar? That's something i've wanted to do for some time but haven't had the chance to. I'll also have to start my intensive physical fitness regime in order to pass my IPPT within those few short weeks so as to get into the Jan. batch.

Team Reputation in Soccer Matters?

Yesterday we played in Hung Tuan's (our captain's) testimonial match. He's leaving for the UK today, along with Derrick and Wei Chuen. Lucky b**tards. I wish I could go back abroad to study again...Beats sitting here staring at the office comp all day. Neways, we had perhaps our toughest opposition to date since i joined the team. It was against this team playing in the CSC division 2 league. semi-pros or what not. and from the pre-match warm ups they looked a gazillion times more pro then we did--having their full squad of 18 players present, whereas our team only had 8 players with kickoff was just 2 mins away lol. needless to say they were expected to give us a bit of a hammering. even the cocky ref seemed to favour their side and deemed they should kick off becoz of their profile. What an idiot. It was no surprise that Francis, my funny but sometimes loud mouthed fren told him "you'll see the scoreline later".

The match was once again end to end. and we came back 3 times to deny them of victory, 3-3 the final score. We could even have won if the pitch was not water-logged from the rain and our passing was more precise. Our goals were a lot nicer than theirs too. Tuan latched onto a cross field pass and ran through one on one before slotting pass the goalie. Yiyong scored a peach of a goal--a wonderful free kick curled into the far corner while their keeper was rooted to the spot. And i opened our scoring for the day by first nutmegging (put the ball through the legs) of the keeper before rounding him to score an open goal. 2 of their 3 goals were flukes and errors. our keeper boon keng even took the liberty to peform 2 or 3 world class saves in the absence of our first choice keeper Nick. We were all wondering whether they felt humiliated to be held by a part time team like ours after the game.

After that we had dinner at Breeks! in ang mo kio. kind of a send off dinner for Tuan. Chatted about times past, about life after Tuan, about how to reform our team etc. She called again. Talked to her for a bit whilst on my way home. Reached home ard 11, took a warm shower, and hit the sack almost immediately after. Monday rolls around.
