Another week is past, and thank God it is! Field camp has been a really interesting experience. never did i dream that I would be appointed as the exercise PC for platoon field camp. the one appointment that everyone dreaded... that nobody wanted... and it had to be me. Needless to say i had a sleepless night preparing all the ops orders and AOPs getting them approved from my instructors. Also, during the actual mission, the execution of the plan didn't go exactly according to what i wanted, so i had to make a few impromptu changes. Luckily everything turned out well. I think i performed better than i expected. Let's hope those instructors assessing me will give me a decent grade.

Today is the day i celebrate my 7 months together with my darling. Had an extremely fun day today with my dearest Cathy. Watched Star Wars Episode III, went to Church together, then had dinner @ Parkway before rounding off the evening by spending a few short moments at East Coast Park. Never realized i could squeeze so many things into one day. But then again, that was before i had the luxury of using the car i guess :P

News from L.A.: Mom says that Uncle Cung's operation was successful. Praise God! I really am happy to hear this news since Uncle Cung is my favourite Uncle. His warm, generous, and ever thoughtful presence will always be at the back of my mind wherever i go. Hope he recovers a.s.a.p. Also hope i will get to see mom soon again. Miss her lots! In other news, my BIG SIS is coming home this tuesday! yay!! can't wait to see her again. especially after all the fun she's been having back in beautiful T.O. without me. I just have to go back there again one day! and someday sooner rather than later i hope. this time i will definitely bring my darling there with me. oh well.

booking in early tomorrow morning. have live firing for GPMG on a sunday. can u believe how dumb their planned schedule is. well, it is now 3.5 weeks left till the end of service term and counting... i can't wait.

Vesak Day weekend--the second long weekend in the month of May. I really don't want this weekend to end. Not least because next week is platoon field camp. I really loathe going outfield. This is primarily because everytime we go outfield there is bound to be something that goes wrong and that we get punished for. Not to mention going for days and days not being able to shower and having camo cream on ur face 24 hours a day. I guess i'm just not made to be an infantry man.

On the bright side, sis is coming back to S'pore in less than 2 weeks! can't wait to see her again. miss her so much, and somehow when she's on the other side of the globe, it isn't exactly easy to hang out with her like times past. It has been almost impossible not to reminisc on those wonderful moments i've shared with my sis in our apartment on 222 Elm St. in T.O. Makes me realize how much i have changed over the past year or so as well. Army really does change a guy. For good or for worse i don't really know. All i do know is i have changed.

I am still suffering from the effects of sunburn after our Tango Wing Cohesion Day event @ Sentosa yesterday morning. Had lots of fun playing ard with my platoon and wing mates. I dare say it's the first time we actuall had the chance to play since i came into OCS. We had beach soccer, ultimate frisbee, touch rugby etc. I played in all! hiakz. gosh.. feel sooo bushed. gonna go hit the sack now. zzzZZZ...

Another week is gone. Just completed paying my dues by serving my second weekend duty last nite. Just booked out this morning and am booking in again in a couple of hours. For some reason my spirits are higher this week. perhaps its the long weekend just around the corner (a suitable respite), or perhaps i am finally getting used to the vigorous lifestyle of an officer cadet in SAFTI. either way, it can only be a good thing.

gonna get my injury reviewed by the physio tomorrow. if everything goes well, i'll have SOC plus Demolition lectures all through this week. Can't wait for the next weekend to come. Gotta spend more time with my mom b4 she leaves for LA to accompany my uncle. I pray that he undergoes a successful operation for his sake and for our whole family's sake. God bless u uncle Cung.

My darling bought me a Lord of the Rings Gold ring over the week! Funny thing how i played a trick on her and she revealed the secret and so it no longer was a surprise. i felt rather bad... but nonetheless it was the sweetest thing for her to do since she knew i liked it so much. feel that i am being pampered a bit too much in this relationship. when is it my turn to do something nice like that for her? is a lack of free time really an excuse here? i need to give it some serious thought...

On the football front, it's another disappointing season for both my favourite teams--United and Real Madrid. Really can't understand what's happened over the past 2 years. I pray that this is just a temporary slump and that they can get back their acts together. They've both got world class players so i really don't know why things havent gone their way.

This is a short message for my dearest sister since i am rushing to book in right now: For all the problems and stress i have at the moment, i do not forget the ones whom i hold dear to my heart. And you are such a one jie. Miss you lots back here in S'pore and can't wait for u to be back. Look to God as you go through your troubles. You have always been a rock for me, and wisdom isn't something you lack. Take care of yourself and make use of whatever time you have there. Love ya and God bless!

home is no shelter for me during these troubled times. in fact there is an even bigger storm brewing. where, oh where can i seek refuge? is it wrong to feel like i really just want to get away for awhile? it's not that i don't want to face the problem but in this case i can't really do much except worry even more.

sis doesnt seem to interested in what's happening at home for some reason. or maybe she's just too busy spending time with certain friends before they come back for good. either way, she doesn't seem to understand the gravity of the situation. she seemed easily consoled by a few words my mom said that i still can't believe she did. perhaps she was just trying to make my sis feel better.

somebody pls wake me up from this nightmare. i want out of this shithole.
