I just thought I'd take this opportunity to blog for one last time in 2004. This has really been an eventful year. From my graduation, till my wonderful work opportunity at EDB and meeting my dear Cat there, till entering the army, things have pretty much been non-stop over the past half a year.
Over the past week we have also been reminded of the ruthlessness of nature. Such an incident can't help but remind us that for all the mighty things that humankind is capable of, at the end of the day we are still at the mercy of things that we take for granted more often than not. Perhaps it's God's way of reminding us and putting us in our place. We aren't as great as we think we are.
As the new year draws nearer, I pray that my family and loved ones, together with all my friends, wherever you all may be, will be truly blessed and gently reminded of the importance of life.

ARMY DAZE
Hiakz... out for X'mas weekend. Army life is interesting... diff i guess, but i guess the only part that needs adjusting to is the regimentation. Physically, I still can cope with it... mentally as well. (well, so far at least...) Also the next hard thing is the lack of free time to talk to my family and loved one. But oh well, I'm still alright :)
Lots of things have happened over the last couple of weeks at BMTC 2 in Tekong, but i'll save that for another time when I have more time to spare :P Really enjoyed seeing my family when i booked out yesterday... none more so than seeing my big sis! My jie is back to visit but i havent had the chance to see her yet b4 this. Everything on the mainland was so refreshing all of a sudden... hiakz.
Also got to see my darling last nite for a few hours. We spent some time at Kerbangan, also exchanged X'mas gifts. All I can say was that i felt bad but nonetheless my dear was very sweet to get me such a thoughtful gift, and those gifts for my family too! :) After that da pao-ed dinner from dou jiang you tiao da wang at geylang lor 9. Went back home to have a late family supper.. yum yum!
Today is X'mas day. MERRY X'MAS EVERYONE!!! Hope this will really bring joy and good cheer to y'all. God Bless and take care...

ENLISTMENT DAY
D-day has finally come... gonna head in today. I am quite surprised at myself. I neither feel excited nor sian about it. Guess in a way I am looking forward to this new experience--challenge. Have had quite a few frens calling to wish me luck and giving me tips. None more so than Elvin & Leon, two of my crazy sec schl buddies who wanted to send me to Tekong. And more of a surprise was my soccer team captain & buddy Ah Boon this morning. Appreciated his phone call, really :)
My bro-in-law has been the best too, staying the night over to have fun with me b4 i go in. We had a bit of supper last nite followed by a quick game of Pro Evo Soccer 4 on my comp... but didn't get to finish the "Du Shen" dvd, which my bro-in-law wanted to show me.
Had a wonderful date with my dear last nite. Sadly it had to be a short one, but every moment matters, and I am gonna miss her lots! Also gonna miss my sis lots too! it sux that she will be back visiting us in Sg while i'm in there. Won't get to see her as much as i would like to. But i guess sometimes we just have to work ard what we're given.
Just felt like writing one last entry for my blog before i head off. Well, the last one for a few weeks at least :) Still friggin' early, but I'm up already. Bro-in-law snoozing in the background still if u can imagine that :P Guess I'm off for now. All of ya take care & God Bless!

Meet the parents day went well for my darling and me. Feel like a lot less stressful now that my parents have met her. I am sure she feels the same way too. Now its only me left to meet her parents. Although I'm not sure when that will happen since I'll prob be heading to Pulau Tekong already this Friday. *bummer*
4 days of freedom left. Actually a lot of things to be done in that time and a lot to settle, so can't really call that freedom either. Positive thinking tells me that at least this leaves me with a target to aim for, gives life more meaning. I hope this gets drummed into my head!
Can't thank my family enough for their support. My parents are the best in this. Mom especially. Gonna miss her to itty bitty little bits. My darling too. Don't think i need to say much about this. Will be a real test of patience for us during this coming period.
Special thanks to my Kor-in-law.. Henry. He has been so supportive and helpful and caring as a brother and as a friend. And i owe him a lot, feel bad that i havent been able to spend as much time as i would have liked with him recently. hope i will be able to make up for it in time to come. Cheers bro.

GOODBYE EDB
My 4 month stint at EDB has finally come to an end. Though the stay has been brief, it will leave me with countless memories that I will take along with me wherever I go. I have also made a lot of new friends and acquaintances, some of which hopefully will hold me in good stead for the future! ;)
Here are some pics from my final day at the office:
My colleague Nicole, who sits in the same cubicle as me... it's also her last day at the Office.
My dear Cathy and I, posing with my "White Elephant" behind-the-times computer.
Marcom gal pals (from left: Evelyn, Amelia, Nicole, Cathy). Only Cat is staying beyond Nov 30.
Marcom "ConneXions": Our last visit to the 21st floor.
Me & Cathy in the Embargo Room just outside our office area.
Raffles City Tower: An external view of my office building.
