BIRTHDAY SPECIAL??

My birthday this year turned out to be rather fun. And it is all thanks to ppl like my platoon sergeant Kevan, and my coy 2IC Jason. And it was rather unexpected as well. of course to say that i totally did not anticipate any tricks up their sleeves would be a lie. But still, the way it was pulled off and the timing was well planned.

after our 3km run in camp, Jason gathered our whole coy for a cool down. After which he made everyone form up a circle and publicly announced that it was my birthday. So there I was standing in the centre of the parade square in full view of everyone, and our coy men in a circle, singing happy birthday. Embarassing? not quite. funny? well... that's a matter of opinion. as if that weren't enough, they resorted to emptying their water bottles all over me right after that. I was lucky enough to grab hold of kevan in time to use him as a shield. Although I was still wet from head to toe after that.

in the afternoon, our coy went for cohesion bowling at ECP. That was when the next surprise was sprung. My PS had gone through the trouble of getting a cake as well as preparing a gift basket with two bottles of wine, a helluva lot of chocolates (tim tams included), as well as having the men from my platoon write their names and wishes on the plastic wrap. As if that were not enough they resorted to singing "happy birthday" again at my bowling lane. After the bowling, plus a sabo session where i was forced to sing a song, i went to meet Cathy for dinner in the evening.

And my better half, as ever so thoughtful, had reserved a place at One Fullerton restaurant. One that is called "Black Angus". Don't laugh. I know it doesn't exactly sound appetizing, but the food there is really nice. And it is one classy place with a nice view of the Singapore River, very romantic. :) Thank you dear. And your present is nothing short of sweet. All in all, a special day for me, and it will be remembered for a long time to come. Thanks all u guys!
